With
the Spider-Man property being as hot as it’s ever been for Sony (thanks to
Kevin Feige), it seems they won’t just settle for a live-action Spidey. The
animated Spider-Man film that was penned by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie) that
they were originally supposed to direct before the Han Solo movie came around
has just cast their webbed-slinger. According to The
Playlist, Shameik Moore will voice Miles Morales in the currently untitled
animated feature.
Miles
Morales is the fan favorite Black and Hispanic character who has yet to be seen
on the big screen so this is a good sign for die-hard fans. Moore was the lead
in Rick Famuyiwa’s Dope and has a
unique voice that I think will work perfectly for the character. It’s also
important to note that Ray Donovan’s Live
Schreiber will voice the villain in the movie as well. The film is scheduled to
be released on December 21st, 2018.
Moore
can be seen currently in the Netflix series, The Get Down. He’ll also be seen in James Franco’s Pretenders alongside Juno Temple, Brian
Cox and Franco himself. What do you guys think about the casting of Moore for
Miles Morales? Would you have cast someone else in the role? Comment below and
let us know!
