It
seems that we have another television show being developed based on a movie
with Spike TV joining the narrative television sphere with The Mist. The movie of the same name that was released in 2007 was
directed by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank
Redemption, The Green Mile) and starred Thomas Jane and Marcia Gay Harden.
The property though is based on the Stephen King novella and we have the first
trailer for the SpikeTV show right here.
The
series comes ten years after the feature film was released and follows a small
town worried about a mysterious mist that takes over. The terrified townspeople
are driven to craziness and chaos before discovering that whether they’re
inside or outside, they will be affected by the weather conditions that hide
monsters of all kinds. We can see with the trailer that the show doesn’t follow
the same grocery store setting but spreads all across the city to elongate the
television series. This seems to be a strategic move to separate itself from
the movie, completely.
Check
out the trailer below for SpikeTV’s The
Mist! The series stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney,
Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro and Luke Cosgrove. The Mist premieres on SpikeTV on June 22nd.
