With the 2017 movie season rapidly approaching the Summer season with next weekend’s first major release in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it’s no surprise that studios are beginning to reveal some of the release dates for their slates in 2018. 20th Century Fox has just solidified some spots for some of their releases as well as shift some dates around for next year.

Firstly, Shane Black’s The Predator sequel has moved from its original February 9th, 2018 release to a summer-friendly, August 3rd, 2018. That first week has proved to be successful over the last two summers with superhero flicks, Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad making boatloads of cash. The rated R action/thriller will open against the Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly comedy, Holmes & Watson as well as a TBA live-action Disney film that I’m speculating could be Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin.

20th Century Fox has also scheduled its next three superhero movies with Josh Boone’s New Mutants starring Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nat Wolff arriving on April 13th, 2018. That’ll be followed up by Deadpool 2 on June 1st starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular character along with Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz as Cable and Domino. Finally, there’s Dark Phoenix which will star Sophie Turner and has Simon Kinberg writing and directing that is set for a November 2nd release date going against Disney’s live-action Mulan remake.

They also announced some potential awards fare towards the end of this year and next with Steven Spielberg’s film, The Post starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks getting a release date of December 22nd, 2017. The long-gestating Freddie Mercury biopic starring Rami Malek titled Bohemian Rhapsody and directed by Bryan Singer will be released next Christmas. In addition, Steve McQueen’s follow-up to 12 Years a Slave titled Widows with an all-star cast of Viola Davis, Liam Neeson, Robert Duvall, Colin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez and Daniel Kaluuya will be released on November 16th, 2018.
