Shane
Black directed one of the best critically acclaimed movies of the year thus far
in The Nice Guys but now we have more
news on his upcoming movie, The Predator,
which is a reboot of the original 1987 sci-fi/horror flick. After Benicio Del
Toro left the movie due to scheduling conflicts, we now know that Olivia Munn
will be co-starring alongside his replacement, Boyd Holbrook per Collider.
We
also now know the roles the two actors will be undertaking. Munn will play a
scientist and Holbrook will pay a Special Forces commando. More interesting
though, we discovered recently that the movie will take place in the suburbs
rather than a jungle setting or a more heavily infested area like New York or
Los Angeles.
Shane
Black does love to spin the audience around with his ideas for movies. Though I
haven’t seen his most recent crime film, I’m a huge fan of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. In addition to that though, Iron Man 3 was one of my least favorite
movies in the MCU. Seeing a Predator rummage through suburbia should be more
than interesting to say the least but I’m excited to see what Black can do with
this feature.
