Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have
finally received our first look at King Kong in the upcoming Kong: Skull Island. The
highly-anticipated reboot of the iconic property gives us a new look at Kong
and yes, he looks terrifyingly awesome.
Kong:
Skull Island takes place in the 70s during the Vietnam War and stars Tom
Hiddleston as a British Special Forces vet and Brie Larson as a war
photographer and their group stumbles upon Kong himself while exploring Skull
Island. I think the intense image of the creature in action looks even better
than I expected. I’m more excited now than I ever have been for the upcoming
blockbuster movie directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer).
Kong:
Skull Island opens in theaters on March 10th, 2017. In addition
to Larson and Hiddleston, the movie also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Kebbell,
Corey Hawkins, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Thomas Mann and Jason Mitchell. I’m
sure we’ll be getting a new trailer soon as well so that’s exciting. Check out
the first image of Kong below!
