Elle
Fanning has been rising up the ranks of best up-and-coming actresses with her
diversity. This year alone she’s been seen in Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon and has 20th Century Women and Ben
Affleck’s Live by Night still
upcoming but now it seems that she’ll be taking an interesting track by taking
a starring role in a new thriller. According to The
Playlist, Fanning will star in Beware
the Girl based on the young adult novel from Teresa Toten.
The
movie will follow outsider Kate O’Brien (Fanning) who strives to climb the
social ranks of her new prep school in NYC and becomes best friends with the
most popular girl at school before her life takes a turn for the worst. It’s
being described as a movie in the same vein as something like Gone Girl or The Girl on the Train and seems to be a great project for Fanning
to take on.
Add
this to the long list of upcoming projects on the docket for the younger sister
of Dakota as she already has over ten movies in all different stages of
production. I’m excited to see her in a role like this one as I’m a big fan of Gone Girl. No news on a writer or
director for this project yet but that news should be coming soon.
