First trailer for 'Ghost in the Shell' showcases Scarlett Johansson as a special-ops android

            The highly controversial Ghost in the Shell has finally gotten a trailer. Scarlett Johansson stars as The Major in the live-action adaptation of the 1995 anime series written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow. There was plenty of backlashfor whitewashing when Johansson was cast as the lead for a character that is of Asian descent but this first trailer looks great and the visuals look fantastic.

            There are plenty of Asian actors within the movie though as Kaori Momoi, Rila Fukushima, Chin Han, Yutaka Izumihara and Tuwanda Manyimo in essential roles. In addition to them Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt round out the ensemble cast for the sci-fi film.
