Though
Daniel Day-Lewis is the king of transformation and method acting, it’s hard to
argue the transformations that an actor like Gary Oldman goes through every
project. He might’ve outdone himself with his upcoming role as Winston
Churchill, the British Prime Minister. Just by looking at the image you won’t
be able to tell that it’s Oldman under all the makeup and prosthetic.
Darkest Hour is an upcoming WWII drama
from the Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) in which
Churchill leads a charge against Hitler’s army within the early days of the
war. This is the first feature for Wright since the colossal failure that was
Pan, but he also directed an episode of Season 3 of Black Mirror and he’s clearly a formidable filmmaker. Also, the
cast is tremendous with Ben Mendelsohn, John Hurt, Lily James and Kirstin Scott
Thomas joining Oldman.
Darkest Hour is set to open in theaters
on November 24th, 2017. Check out the image of Oldman as Winston
Churchill below!
