With
President Barack Obama’s days winding down as President and the success of
Southside with You that chronicled the first date between himself and the First
Lady, Michelle, it seemed that a proper biopic was bound to happen. Today, we
received the trailer for Barry,
Vokram Gandhi’s film that covers Obama’s life from as early as his college days
at Columbia University.
The
film will showcase the current President in fall of 1981 in his junior year at
college in a crime-riddles and racially charged environment. As a mixed man,
due to his Kansas-born mother and estranged Kenyan father, the story covers a
young man grappling with all issues years before he enters political office. I
love this trailer and the movie looks to be a great look into the Obama’s life,
the parts in which many people haven’t seen before.
Barry will be released on Netflix and in
theaters on December 16th. The movie stars Ashley Judd, Anya
Taylor-Joy, Ellar Coltrane, Jason Mitchell and Devon Terrell who plays Barack
Obama. Check out the trailer below!
