The
final trailer for Ben Affleck’s upcoming gangster film, Live by Night has been released and it is by far the best trailer
the movie has had thus far. Based on the novel of the same name, the movie
stars Affleck as Joe Coughlin, a WWI vet and son of a Boston Police Deputy
Superintendent who works as a criminal who goes by his own moral code operating
in the waters of Prohibition-era Miami.
This
movie looks tremendous, I’m even more confident in it based on this trailer as
it is the best one I’ve seen for the film so far. Not only is Affleck starring
but he’s also writing and directing in which he has a great track record with
both jobs. The current Batman is two for two behind the camera as he’s won
Academy Awards for writing and producing Good
Will Hunting and Argo respectively.
He could have another hit on his hands with Live
by Night and with its awards-qualifying release date. The trailer has such
a stylized tone and embraces the jazz age thanks to the gorgeous cinematography
from Robert Richardson who has worked on every Tarantino movie since Kill Bill Vol. 1.

Gleeson, Chris Messina, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Chris Cooper. The movie
opens in limited released on December 28th and expands worldwide on
January 13th.
