When you think about some of the most popular
television series of the 90s, especially for kids, one of the first things that
come to my mind is the Power Rangers. The Power Rangers were a group of high school
kids who are mostly ordinary but become something more than that to fight
aliens, monsters and evil forces.
As young kids, there
always needs to be a leader to put them in the right direction and within the
show/movies there was Zordon. Zordon was a giant disembodied head who was the
Rangers mentor from day one and now, he’s been cast for the new movie hitting
theaters next year. Per Joblo,
Bryan Cranston has been cast as Zordon in Power
Rangers. It’s interesting to note that ever since Cranston was seen playing
the meth-cooking, cancer ridden science teacher in Breaking Bad, he’s been looked at for many roles that would warrant
his bald head from the show. One of the bigger roles he was courted for earlier
was Lex Luthor in Batman v. Superman
before the role went to Jesse Eisenberg.
Saban’s Power Rangers will be released in
theaters on March 24th, 2017. The cast also includes Dacre
Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Becky G and Ludi Lin as the Rangers, as well
as Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa.
