A legendary actor might
be making his first film since 2012, as 3-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis
may be reuniting with one of his former directors, Paul Thomas Anderson (The Master, Boogie Nights). Anderson and
Lewis worked together on the 2007 film, There
Will Be Blood in which Day-Lewis won his second Oscar.
Day-Lewis
was last seen in the 2012 film, Lincoln,
in which he transformed into the former President of the United States. He is
known to pick his projects sparingly so the fact that he might come back and
reunite with a legendary director again, would be a sight to see. He also won
an Oscar for his portrayal as Abraham Lincoln in his most recent performance. Before
that, he wasn’t seen much in the 2000s as he had only four roles including Nine in 2009 and Gangs of New York in 2002.
Paul
Thomas Anderson is known as one of the best writer/directors around today and
has been nominated for 6 Oscars. His most recent movie, Inherent Vice, was his most criticized project but he has had
plenty of success over the years. He has worked with an array of actors along
with Day-Lewis; this includes Mark Wahlberg, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin
Phoenix, Burt Reynolds, Tom Cruise, just to name a few.
Not
many details have come out about the potential film other than it’s expected to
take place in 50s New York and it will revolve around the fashion industry.
