It’s been years in the
making, but Paramount Pictures has announced today that Clifford the Big Red Dog is coming to theaters. Per Deadline,
Justin Malen (Baywatch) is set to
write the script for the movie that will be a live-action/CGI hybrid.
Clifford the Big Red Dog is a major property that can do
really well as a film if done right. Clifford launched in 1963 as a book series
that follows a young girl named Emily Elizabeth who gets a red puppy for her
birthday that grows to be 25 feet tall. The book series was so successful that
it spawned a PBS television series.
No details have been
revealed on a potential plot, cast or director along with a release date.
Hopefully, the process could be quick and smooth for the story about the big
red dog.
