When one is to look at
what is at the forefront of TV/Film nowadays, it’s hard to ignore the superhero
genre. With blockbuster films like Captain
America: Civil War and Batman v.
Superman: Dawn of Justice being released already this year (and more
coming) it’s clear to see where there is success. Television has had a similar
strategy as Marvel has its Netflix shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones,
as well as DC Comics having a television division with shows like Arrow, The Flash and most recently, Supergirl.
Today, we have information on who will be playing Clark Kent, aka Superman in
that same series.
According
to TVLine,
Tyler Hoechlin is set to play the Man of Steel in The CW’s new series. Supergirl was previously at CBS before
the two networks worked out a deal to bring the Kara along with the Green Arrow
and Flash. Hoechlin is best known for MTV’s Teen
Wolf as Derek Hale and was most recently seen in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!! The casting of
Kal-El is an expected and long awaited one as it’s something that fans were
teased in season 1 as silhouettes of Superman became present but there was no
actual interaction between the cousins.
Superman
is portrayed by Henry Cavill in the movie universe, yet it has been evident
that DC’s movie and TV universe are separate from eachother due to the multiple
Barry Allen’s and now multiple Superman’s. As soon as we get a first reveal at
what Hoechlin looks like as the superhero, we’ll bring it to you.
