One
of the most beloved comedies of all time is returning for a fifth season. Jason
Bateman announced via Twitter that Arrested
Development will return to its most recent home, Netflix for Season 5. Best
news of all: the whole entire cast and crew will be returning.
Arrested Development ran on Fox from
2003-2006 and won Best Comedy Series at the Emmy’s in 2004 but due to poor
ratings, the show went off the air after three seasons. Fandom took over though
and Netflix managed to bring everyone back for a fourth season in 2014 which
was met to a mixed response due to the complicated timeline of the narrative.
Expect them to change the formula back to its original format for Season 5.
The
cult comedy series stars Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter,
Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Alia Shawkat. Mitch
Hurwitz will also return for show running duties. Bateman also claimed of a
Summer shoot but no word has been given to confirm that yet.
