With
film festivals comes discussion between agents and producers to sign on actors
for upcoming projects. Some more intriguing than others but the latest coming
out of Cannes is a terrific romance film titled Party of the Century. Not only that but according to Deadline,
Josh Gad, Chloe Grace Moretz and Jack O’Connell will star in the film based
around Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball.
Gad
will portray Capote in the film and is definitely not the first to play the
famed author as both Toby Jones and the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman
played Capote on screen in separate films in 2006. Hoffman won an Oscar for his
portrayal so the pressure is on Gad to bring something different for his take.
Not much else is known about the movie in terms of plot but the three young
actors who have been cast all have pretty great track records thus far so I’m
interested in this project.
Gad
was seen recently as LeFou in Disney’s live-action, Beauty and the Beast and will be seen next in Murder on the Orient Express and Marshall, a biopic about Thurgood Marshall. Moretz, whose best
known for her role as Hit-Girl in the Kick-Ass
franchise will be seen in The
Miseducation of Cameron Post, November Criminals and Suspiria in 2017. O’Connell will star in the Netflix series Godless as well as portray fashion
designer, Alexander McQueen in a biopic next year.
