Cooper’s directorial debut is an ambitious one but what’s more ambitious is the
direction that he’s going with his unique casting choices. Cooper will star in
the film with Stefani Germanotta (aka Lady Gaga) but another supporting role
has just been cast as THR
reports that Dave Chappelle has joined A
Star is Born.
Chappelle
will play Noodles, an old friend of Cooper’s that started playing in blues
clubs with him back in the day. The cast is shaping up to be one of the most
interesting in recent memory with Chappelle being the second stand-up comedian
joining the fray as Andrew Dice Clay was cast as the father to Germanotta’s
character. This role seems perfect for Chappelle and I’m excited to see what he
can add to the production which is already one of my most-anticipated for 2018.
Chappelle’s
two most recent stand-up specials are available for streaming on Netflix
currently. A Star is Born is set to
hit theaters on September 28th, 2018. How do you guys feel about the
casting news? Are you excited to see Cooper’s directorial debut remaking a
classic? Comment below and let us know!
