It’s
been months since the Sundance Film Festival and the biggest buzz was around
the romantic comedy, The Big Sick
that starred and was co-written by Silicon
Valley star, Kumail Nanjiani. The movie is based on the true story of
Nanjiani and his wife, Emily V. Gordon, who also produced and co-wrote the
flick along with her husband and we have the first trailer for you right here.
The Big Sick is based on the unique
story of Nanjiani and Gordon which stars Nanjiani himself and Zoe Kazan as his
then girlfriend. After they first struck up a relationship, Emily discovers
that Kumail’s family are invested in an arranged marriage for someone of
Pakistani descent. They then break up but Emily gets a shocking and mysterious
illness and falls into a coma. Kumail stays by her side and then forms an
awkward relationship with her parents while being together and hoping for Emily
to return to consciousness. After seeing this trailer, I can see why the movie
was so beloved. Nanjiani is one of my favrite comedic actors right now and Zoe
Kazan is incredibly underrated. This is one of my most-anticipated indie movies
of the year now and I believe that everyone should go out and support movies
like this.
