Richard
Linklater happens to be one of my favorite directors of all time probably due
to his range of storytelling. The man has made one of, if not, the greatest
love trilogies of all-time, a special 90s comedy that was set within the 70s
and a film that took place over a 12-year span in real time. Now, he’s adapting
a novel for his next film that is set to go into production very shortly titled
Where’d You Go, Bernadette. The film
already had Cate Blanchett and Kristen Wiig cast, now Deadline
reports that Billy Crudup has joined the fray as well.
Where’d You Go, Bernadette follows the
titular character, a mother in Seattle who has gone missing and left her
teenage daughter to track her down. With the talent involved, it sure is a good
move for Crudup to sign onto a project like this. He’ll continue his hot streak
of working with talented directors in the last few years like Tom McCarthy,
Pedro Larrain and Mike Mills. He’ll play Elgie in the film, the husband of
Blanchett’s character.
Crudup
can be seen in theaters starting today in Ridley Scott’s, Alien: Covenant before heading into the comic book realm as Henry
Allen in Justice League and The Flash. He also co-stars in the
upcoming Netflix series, Gypsy which
is available to stream on June 30th.
