One
of the most anticipated films for us here at Cinema Wave has to be Christopher
Nolan’s (Interstellar, The Dark Knight)
next directorial effort, Dunkirk. It
appeared at number two on my most-anticipated list and I know our fellow
writer, Diego has it as his number one most-anticipated film of the year. Now,
we have a new trailer for the WWII film that gives us a better look at the cast
and story.
Dunkirk tackles the true story of
Operation Dynamo in which many British civilians traveled to Northern France to
evacuate the British Army. 338,000 men were rescued from death though others
weren’t as lucky. The most interesting aspect of the film thus far is that a
film in which you’d expect so much death and authenticity would get a PG-13
rating. It worries me a bit that that’s in fact the case but if anyone could
pull it off, it’s Nolan.
Check
out the new trailer below for Dunkirk!
The film stars Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Harry
Styles, James D’Arcy and Fionn Whitehead. The film opens in theaters on July 21st.
