Zac
Efron’s career is set to take a massive turn towards the insane and dramatic.
Once a Disney heartthrob due to his role in the High School Musical films, Efron has worked towards working in more
mainstream comedies as of late with Mike
and Dave Need Wedding Dates and the Neighbors
films. Now, according to THR,
the actor has been cast as serial killer Ted Bundy in the film titled Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
This
could be a career making turn for Efron who has also done some dramatic work in
movies like At Any Price and The Paperboy but nothing to the level of
prominence like portraying Bundy. The film will tell Bundy’s story through the
eyes of his longtime girlfriends, Elizabeth Kloepfer, who spent years denying
all of the chargers against Bundy before turning him in. No word yet on who
would portray Kloepfer.
Efron
will be seen next in the R-rated comedy, Baywatch
alongside Dwayne Johnson. He’ll also make his return to musicals with a
supporting role in The Greatest Showman
with Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams on Christmas Day.
