One
of my most-anticipated movies of the year is based on one of my favorite
novels, Wonder about a young boy
dealing with a facial deformity in grade school. The New York Times bestseller
is getting a movie adaptation that will be released around awards season and we
have the trailer for you right here!
Wonder tells the inspirational tale of
August “Auggie” Pullman, a young boy born with a facial deformity and his
experiences throughout fifth grade in a public school. The film will follow
Auggie as he navigates throughout his family, new classmates and more
struggling to accept the young boy into their community as he proves through
his amazing journey that he was born to stand out in more ways than one. The
trailer looks a bit campy to me but I have faith because of the incredible
talent involved with this one. I think Jacob Tremblay, best known for his
supporting role in Room, might garner himself some awards buzz for this and at
just 11 years old, he’s already earning himself massive praise in the industry.
Check
out the trailer below for Wonder! The
film stars Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Mandy Patinkin and
Daveed Diggs and is directed by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower). Wonder hits theaters everywhere on November 17th!
