Lucas
Hedges is going to be a name that people remember for many years especially
because of his Oscar-nominated performance in Manchester by the Sea at the young age of 20. He’s following that
performance up with some high-profile projects but he has just signed on to
another exciting film. According to Showbiz
411, Hedges will reunite with Michelle Williams (who also was in Manchester by the Sea) for Jonah Hill’s
directorial debut, Mid 90s.
Mid 90s is based on Hill’s brother,
Jordan Feldstein, who nowadays manages the pop super group Maroon 5, but the
film covers his beginnings as a skateboarder and hustler in his youth. Though
Hedges looks nothing like Feldstein, it’s anticipated that he will play the
lead character with Williams playing his mother. Hill will also write the
screenplay for the film in which is inspired by 1995’s KIDS which was written by Harmony Korine (Spring Breakers, Gummo). This casting announcement is incredibly
exciting as I was a huge fan of Hedges in the Oscar-nominated Manchester by the Sea but this character
sounds to be a bit of a rebel to which Hedges played something similarly in his
last movie so he should do great work in the role.
Hedges
will be seen next in Martin McDonagh’s Three
Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri along with Frances McDormand and Woody
Harrelson. He’s also set to work with Greta Gerwig for her sophomore
directorial effort, Lady Bird.
