Hot
on the heels of the latest rated-R comic book movie, Logan, The
Wrap reports that David Harbour is being looked at by Fox to play Cable in Deadpool 2. Cable was hinted at in the
post-credit stinger for Deadpool and
a slew of actors have been rumored for the part and Collider
reports that even Oscar-nominee, Michael Shannon was in talks for the part but
had to drop out due to scheduling issues.
In
the Marvel comics, Cable, also known as Nathan Summers, is the son of X-Men
character Scott Summers, aka Cyclops who was portrayed in past films in the
franchise by James Marsden and Tye Sheridan. Harbour is best known for his role
as Chief Jim Hopper in the incredibly popular Netflix series, Stranger Things and is no stranger (no
pun intended) to comic book fare. He recently appeared in DC’s Suicide Squad. Harbour was one of the
key cogs in the machine that was Stranger
Things and was absolutely tremendous in that role; I believe he could add
another dimension to Cable and is by far my favorite rumored actor for the part
thus far.
What do
you guys think of David Harbour playing Cable? Any ideas to play the cybernetic
character? Deadpool 2 stars Ryan
Reynolds and is directed by David Leitch (John
Wick).
